Organised by the Hong Kong Food Council, the first-ever “2015 Wong Tai Sin Fun Food Market” was held in two phases from 18 April to 24 April 2015 and 26 April to 3 May 2015 respectively at Wong Tai Sin Square. The expo featured a wide spectrum of foodstuffs ranging from cereals and oils to local delicacies in 50 outdoor booths, with an aim to providing a food carnival for shopping as well as entertainment.
The “2015 Wong Tai Sin Fun Food Market” served as a platform for assisting Hong Kong food companies in product promotion and brand development in order to enhance consumer awareness on their products. It also provided an opportunity for the visitors to purchase foodstuffs and taste delicacies at affordable prices with a view to stimulating the sluggish consumer market.
During the expo, there were a wide array of performances for the entertainment of visitors of all ages. Moreover, to show its care and concern to the needy in the society, the HKFC distributed HK$20 cash coupons, Thai fragrant rice gift vouchers and edible oil gift vouchers to the underprivileged in the district. The “2015 Wong Tai Sin Fun Food Market” received tremendous support from various sectors. In addition to Wong Tai Sin District Council and Wong Tai Sin District Office, the Council was also thankful for the great support from Sik Sik Yuen, Hong Kong St John Ambulance, Kui Fat Yuen Limited, Hop Hing Oil Group Limited, Yoshinoya Fast Food (Hong Kong) Ltd, Kui Fat Yuen Limited and A Plus Consultant Limited.
